Simoy is a handfan, handmade paper folded over a bamboo frame, finished with a tassel and a single gemstone. Small enough to live in a bag and open when the room turns warm. It arrives in a velvet drawstring pouch. Named for the Tagalog word for a soft breeze, it is the piece in the summer edit that starts the conversation.
The handfan is a form De Silang returns to, a quiet nod to the abaniko carried through generations of Filipino summers. Here it is pared back to its essentials: paper, bamboo, silk, stone. Decorative, functional, and the piece people remember.
